Cupertino Dentist Utilizes the Latest Technology

Your Cupertino cosmetic and restorative dentist, Dr. Randall LaFrom utilizes the latest technology to better serve our patients. The technology we use promotes patient safety and earlier detection of potential oral health problems. Some technological advancements also aid in patient comfort and the effectiveness of treatments.

Hard and Soft Tissue Lasers

Have you heard of corrective eye surgery or hair removal that utilizes lasers? Did you know that lasers have been used in dentistry for almost two decades? Lasers can be used to clean away infection on the gum tissue and remove decayed portions of teeth. Soft tissue lasers are commonly used to remove infected gum tissue. Lasers also promote faster recovery times than conventional gum disease treatment methods. Different types of lasers an high intensity lamps are used for teeth whitening as well.

Digital X-rays

Instead of using traditional radiographic film, digital X-rays utilize an electronic sensor that transmits images to a computer instantly. The images of your X-ray are viewable on a computer monitor and provide more detail than traditional radiographic film. Dr. LaFrom can even zoom in on certain areas of your X-ray to take a detailed look at specific areas in your mouth. Digital X-rays also reduce radiation emissions up to 90%.

CEREC Crowns

With our restoration milling machine, Dr. LaFrom can fabricate custom ceramic crowns and onlays in just one office visit. Our machine (The CEREC porcelain CAD-CAM machine) mills restorations from high-quality ceramic blocks that beautifully match the color of natural teeth.

DIAGNOdent Laser Cavity Detector

Using this technology, Dr. LaFrom can detect small areas of decay quickly. By addressing decay at its earliest stages, Dr. LaFrom can preserve more of your natural tooth and potentially prevent the need for costly and time-consuming restorations in the future.

Dr. LaFrom and our team practice conservative dentistry. By using the latest technology and detecting potential problems early on—we can help prevent patients from losing their teeth to gum disease and decay. To learn more about our technology or to schedule an appointment, contact our Cupertino dentist office at (408) 996-8595.
