  • Inactive lifestyle

Preventing Heart Disease

We advise that our patients adopt an active lifestyle with regular aerobic exercise because it strengthens the heart muscle. Jogging, cycling, fitness walking, and swimming are great examples of cardiovascular exercise. Patients should exercise a minimum of 30 minutes at a time at least three times a week. In addition, we encourage patients to eat a diet that is rich in whole grains and fiber and reduce saturated fat intake. Saturated fats such as butter and lard contribute to unhealthy levels of cholesterol.

We invite our patients with heart disease or patients who are at risk for developing heart disease to feel welcome in discussing their conditions with us. Although we provide excellent dental care, our staff truly cares about your general wellbeing. To schedule an appointment with Dr. LaFrom, contact our Cupertino dentist office at (408) 996-8595. We serve patients from San Jose, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Saratoga, Campbell, and Santa Clara County.
