CEREC: One-Visit Crowns, No Temporaries

CEREC_machinecerec3DCEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It is a proven technology that has made dentistry more convenient and faster. It is the process by which a dentist would produce indirect ceramic dental restoration by using computer-aided technologies like 3D photography and CAD/CAM. Dr. LaFrom, one of the leading dentists in the Cupertino area, has been working with CEREC crowns for a long time and has received awards from the Bay Area Dental Study Club in this regard. He says that CEREC has revolutionized dental treatments, as the treatment procedure that would have required two weeks notice can be done now in a single sitting.

Dr. LaFrom informs us that CEREC is used to produce custom restorations that consist of crowns, veneers, full crowns, onlays and inlays. At first, the digital impressions of your teeth would be taken instead of using dental putty, which would then be converted into a three dimensional model. Your dentist would modify the model using 3D CAD software. The modifications would ensure perfect precision and aesthetic viability. Later, this would serve as the model for your ceramic restoration.

When your dentist is completely satisfied with the model, the data would be sent to a milling machine, which would carve the actual restoration out of a ceramic block using Diamond Head cutters. Once the restoration fits properly, it would be bonded to your tooth.

Paul, a satisfied customer says “I don’t think it’s common to hear anyone say “we love our dentist”, but the fact is we do “LOVE” our dentist. My family and I have always trusted and felt “safe and comfortable” with Dr. LaFrom and all his staff for the past 20+ years.”
